DISTRESSED DEBT TRADING

We provide advice and assistance to sellers and purchasers of distressed debt claims against insolvent estates.

We assist in settling the transaction documents to absolutely reflect our clients’ expectations of the deal.  We also act as service agents for clients in other jurisdictions and can expedite the Client adoption (KYC) processes.

Although the sale of a debt is a simple transaction, there are representations and warranties for both parties that require close attention as well as definitions that may need fine tuning.   It is essential, especially if there is an uplift in certain circumstances, to understand thoroughly the insolvency  process.

We undertake this work on either a time-cost basis or for larger transactions (above £1m) will undertake the work on a percentage of the value of the debt, depending on the value and the exact scope of our involvement.
